Nepalese police have detained more than 500 Tibetan exiles during anti-China demonstrations in the capital, Kathmandu.
The protests followed the arrest of three top Tibetan leaders in Nepal on Friday on charges of provoking anti-China activities in the country. Meanwhile, the Olympic torch has been carried through the streets of the Tibetan capital without incident. Only spectators hand-picked by the Chinese authorities were allowed onto the streets of Lhasa, as the torch passed through the city. China says many surrender in Tibet ... on the relay runners as they carried the Olympic flame along an 11-kilometre-long route. Many locals were ordered to stay at home and shops remained closed.
