At least 155 people are confirmed dead and 27 are missing after Typhoon Fengshen ravaged the central and southern Philippines.
The International Red Cross the toll does not include those dead or missing from a ferry that sank in the central Philippines with about 750 people aboard. Four people have been confirmed dead and there are three survivors from that incident but there is no report on the fate of the rest. Tens of thousands have been left stranded in flash floods caused by the storm's heavy rains and strong winds, which also knocked out power and caused extensive damage to buildings.
