UN atomic experts have arrived in Syria to inspect a site bombed by Israel last year amid US claims that it was a nuclear facility.
The deputy chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Olli Heinonen, who heads the team, said he hopes to make progress on establishing whether Syria is hiding a secret nuclear programme. Bush defends Syria reactor claim ... the Euphrates river. US intelligence claimed the site housed a nearly completed plutonium-producing reactor. Syria denied the claim saying it was a disused military building.
