At least 10 people have been killed in Iraq's Diyala province after insurgents fired off a spate of mortar rounds in a residential neighbourhood.
An Iraqi government official said the rockets were apparently aimed at the police headquarters and the mayor's office but fell instead on people's homes. About 20 people were wounded in the attack, which took place about 70 kilometres north of the provincial capital Baquba. On Sunday, a female suicide bomber blew herself up near the office in Baquba of the Diyala governor and killed 16 people.
