The Dutch foreign ministry has confirmed that Zimbabwe opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has sought refuge in the Dutch embassy in Harare.
Tsvangirai entered the Dutch embassy shortly after armed police raided the headquarters of his party, the Movement for Democratic Change. On Sunday, Tsvangirai said he would not take part in Friday's presidential run-off against President Robert Mugabe whose ZANU-PF supporters have been conducting a campaign of intimidation ahead of the poll.
