German authorities have arrested a 62-year-old man for allegedly trying to sell rocket-building materials to Iran.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office in Mainz said the businessman was suspected of arranging the export of "proliferation-related goods" to Iran through a Turkish middleman between May of 2007 and June 2008. The materials were never delivered. German law and UN sanctions ban individuals or companies from supplying Iran with goods intended for nuclear or military use.
