The FP list features the names of philosophers, historians, writers, journalists, economists, church dignitaries, leading financiers, politicians, renowned human rights defenders and peace activists.
The personalities are listed in the alphabetic order, without being compared in terms of intellectual qualities or other criteria.
Havel is presented as a statesman and playwright.
Havel, 71, a former leading dissident, was the first post-communist Czechoslovak president in 1989-1992 and the first president of the independent Czech Republic in 1993-2003.
