Zimbabwe's opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has addressed reporters at his home, in a brief appearance before returning to his refuge at the Dutch Embassy.
Tsvangirai has renewed his call for outside help to achieve a solution to the country's political crisis. He called for armed international peackeepers to be sent into the country. He also demanded that all parliamentarians voted in on March 29 be sworn in immediately so that normal legislative business could be conducted. Meanwhile, southern African leaders are holding an emergency meeting in Swaziland on the crisis. South African President Thabo Mbeki, the designated mediator in the region, has not attended.
