In the past, LRA chief Joseph Kony has rejected claims of abduction and conscription of children. The LRA has waged a war in northern Uganda for more than two decades in a bid to overthrow the government in Kampala. Peace talks with the government stalled after the rebels refused to sign the final peace agreement in April.
