US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and senator Hillary Clinton have come together for a joint rally in Unity, a New Hampshire hamlet.
It's their first public event since Clinton pulled out of the race for the Democratic presidential candidacy. The rally is seen as an opportunity for party supporters to come together after a divisive primary battle. Hillary urged her supporters to back Obama's bid for the White House, saying it was necessary to ensure that the next president is a Democrat. Obama in turn paid tribute to Clinton's commitment to key issues facing the country. He said together the Democrats would bring the American dream to every home.
