A top Taliban militant commander in Pakistan has suspended peace negotiations with the government.
Baitullah Mehsud told reporters that the decision came due to the continued use of force against tribesmen by the Pakistani military. Mehsud was speaking just hours after the military announced that it had launched a crackdown on militants in the Khyber tribal region near the north-western city of Peshawar.
