DW boss voices concern about press freedoms ... recurring calf injury prevented the Chelsea midfielder from taking part in the team's final training session. German head coach Joachim Lцw told reporters in Vienna that should Ballack fail to recover in time for the final, either Tim Borowski or Bastian Schweinsteiger could replace him in his attacking midfield role.
Meanwhile, Germany's opponents, Spain have their own injury worries. They may have to do without the tournament's top scorer, striker David Villa, as the result of an injury he sustained in Thursday's semi-final against Russia.
