The United States' top military commander has urged the government to seek a dialogue with Iran over its nuclear programme.
Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at a Pentagon press conference that attacking Iran would be extremely stressful for US forces. Tensions have risen amid reports in recent weeks that Israel was planning a possible strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.
