The commander of Bosnian Muslim forces in Srebrenica, Naser Oric, has had his conviction for war crimes overturned by the UN tribunal in The Hague.
Mr Oric was convicted of failing to prevent men under his command killing and mistreating Bosnian Serb prisoners.
Between 1992 and 1993 he commanded troops who allegedly destroyed 50 Serb villages, causing thousands of Bosnian Serbs to flee.
Judges said the first trial failed to prove he had control over the men.
