Freed Colombian hostage Ingrid Betancourt and members of her family have arrived in Paris.
The 46-year-old, who holds both Colombian and French citizenship, was given a hero's welcome and greeted by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. From the airport runway she thanked Sarkozy and the French people for enabling her release. Betancourt and 14 others were rescued two days ago by Colombian army commandos posing as FARC guerrillas. Betancourt spent six years in captivity during which time she was tortured and fell seriously ill.
