According to CT, Pecina and Babis discussed Agrofert's merger with the Prvni zatecka group, a deal worth an estimated one billion crowns. The UOHS has been handling the merger application since January, which Babis reportedly wanted to complain about at his private meeting with Pecina, CT said. Under the law, the UOHS chairman's behaviour must not breach the office's independence and impartiality. The same applies to all his subordinates. Lawyers surveyed by CT said they consider the meeting an ethical problem at least. ($1=15.118 crowns)
