Train and mass transit strikes throughout Italy could cripple travel on Monday.
A 24-hour nationwide rail strike was originally set to begin at 9 pm Sunday. The strikes were expected to cancel thousands of bus, tram and subway runs. They were called to put pressure on national transport union contract renewal talks, which are expected to begin soon.
