radar base on Czech soil in Prague today. The base is to be part of the U.S. anti-missile shield. U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff said a month ago further countries, including the Czech Republic, should be included in the visa-waiver programme as from this autumn. In February, when a Czech-U.S. memorandum on visas was signed, Chertoff said the first Czechs could travel to the United States visa-free in October or November this year. A similar date was also mentioned by Czech deputy prime minister Alexandr Vondra.
