300,000 may have died in Darfur: UN official ... critical condition. UNAMID spokesperson Shereen Zorba said the peacekeepers were on a routine patrol in Sudan's north when they were ambushed by around 30 vehicles containing gunmen. The attackers are suspected of being Janjaweed militia.
