Colombia did not fake Farc files ... meeting with Hugo Chavez. The two men have clashed in the last eight months over the FARC, a leftist guerrilla group in Colombia. Chavez has in the past openly supported the FARC which has led a decades long insurgency against the Colombian government. Relations hit a low point in March when Colombia attacked a FARC base in Ecuador, an ally of Venezuela. Now the two sides are looking to improve ties after the dramatic rescue earlier this month of 15 hostages held by the rebels, including former presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt.
