Greg Norman will take a two-shot lead over defending champion Padraig Harrington and KJ Choi into the final round of the Open at Birkdale.
The 53-year-old two-time former champion carded 72 to end three over on a day of winds gusting over 40mph which almost forced a halt to play.
Harrington shot 72, while overnight leader Choi took 75.
England's Simon Wakefield is three behind in fourth, with countryman Ross Fisher in a group five adrift.

0757: Lee Westwood has managed a par at the 1st hole for the first time this week. The brutal opener has cost him four shots this week.
"Morning troops. We are off and running on the final day of this year's Open. Chih-Bing Lam starting in quite a heavy shower. Those clouds have now moved on and we have blue skies and sunshine. Still pretty windy, although not as bad as yesterday. Apparently sunshine and showers is going to be the story this morning. The Met Office forecast adds that this afternoon is going to be 'dry with lengthening sunny spells' with winds of 28mph and gusts of 38mph.
"So if you are coming to the course, make sure you bring some sunblock otherwise you may get caught out like the bloke I saw in a restaurant last night who had a face like a Ribena berry."

0751: Another home hope that suffered on stormy Saturday was Lee Westwood and he has just teed off his final round.
0749: Justin Rose has got his fourth round up and running. After yesterday's 82 his hopes of a winning return to Birkdale are well and truly over. After parring the opening hole he's slipped another shot at the 2nd and he's at 19 over.
0746: Some early weather news. Apparently it is already blowing at 30mph up at Birkdale and is set to get worse later on. Looks like we can be expecting some high scores again. Our fearless fellas up in Birkdale - Rob 'Hodgo' Hodgetts and Mark 'Orlo' Orlovac will no doubt fill me in with a more accurate forecast in due course. How we Brits love a bit of weather chat eh?
0742: Not a good start from Lam Chih-Bing as he cards a bogey at the 1st and then a triple bogey at the 2nd as he slips to 24 over for the tournament.
"Lam Chih-Bing is playing with a marker, Michael Lyon, the young head assistant pro from Royal Birkdale. Just before he teed off I asked him how he was feeling. 'I'm really, really looking forward to it. You'd be stupid not to really, wouldn't you?' he said. Nice swing, too. He got quite a cheer from the locals and even a cry of 'you're the man'. I wonder how many of the field he can beat today."

0719: But there are plenty of players who will feel they are still well in contention, with the unlikely name of England's Simon Wakefield leading the home charge after a fine round of 70 yesterday. He is just three shots behind Norman, while Ross Fisher, Ian Poulter, amateur Chris Wood and Graeme Storm are all within striking distance.
0716: Lam Chih-bing is 20 over par after three rounds and I'm going to stick my neck out and say he's not going to be lifting the Claret Jug later today.
0710: It is over seven hours before Harrington and Norman get their rounds under way, but the fourth round is already up and running as Lam Chih-bing of Singapore tees off at the 1st.
0707: Welcome to our coverage of the final round of what has already been a hugely exciting Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
A quick look at the leaderboard suggests we are only a few hours from history. Greg Norman is aiming to become the oldest winner of a golfing major, KJ Choi the first Asian player to win one, while Padraig Harrington is looking to be the first European to retain the Claret Jug for over a century.
