British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has received a red carpet welcome upon his arrival in Israel.
It his first visit to the Jewish state since he took office a year ago. Britons feared on missing plane ... Israel's settlement policy and denounced terrorism in the region. Brown also emphasized that economics were the key to Mideast peace, and said Israel should ease travel restrictions in the West Bank that have hindered commerce. Brown's visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories follows a stop in Iraq, where he met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. He will wrap up his visit to Isreal on Monday afternoon, after addressing the Knesset, the first British premier to do so.
