Nine policemen have been killed in Afghanistan in air strikes launched by the NATO-led force after police and troops mistook each other for Taliban insurgents.
The "friendly fire" incident occurred in Farah province in the early hours. In a separate incident in Paktika province, ISAF forces accidentally killed at least four civilians after firing two mortar rounds, which landed nearly 1 kilometre away from the intended target.
