Ministers from 35 key nations have started world trade talks in Geneva.
The meeting in Switzerland is aimed at reviving the stalled Doha round launched in 2001. The WTO talks in Geneva are centred on resolving an impasse over barriers to trade in industrial and agricultural goods on world markets. Some large developing countries are calling on industrialized countries to cut tariffs on agricultural produce. Germany's Economy Minister Michael Glos said there will have to be concessions on both sides, adding that major emerging countries like Brazil, India and China did not have the right to remain entrenched in their positions in the name of developing countries.
