Cambodia and Thailand have boosted troop numbers in a disputed border area near an ancient temple complex.
Cambodia wants the UN Security Council to help resolve the standoff, after talks during a meeting of regional foreign ministers made no progress. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) held crisis talks on Tuesday, but failed to defuse the row. The dispute threatens to become an unprecedented test for the regional bloc. Thailand's ambassador to the United Nations said the UN Security Council was expected to discuss the week-long dispute on Thursday.
