South Korean Olympic torch relay accompanied by protests ... which she met her North Korean counterpart for the first time, Rice said however that there were no surprises. She said much of the discussion centred on the mechanism to verify North Korea's nuclear programme. It was the highest-level meeting between the United States and North Korea in four years. The talks were also attended by the foreign ministers from South Korea, China, Russia and Japan.
