23.07.2008 - Czech govt approves military strategy without ForMin's comments
According to daily Pravo the Foreign Ministry recommended that the risk of an attack by mass destruction weapons be designed as a specific threat to the Czech Republic.
The Defence Ministry, however, considers it a threat of a general character, according to Pravo.
The long-term vision contains the direction and priorities of the Defence Ministry in the next 20 years, while the military strategy is a narrower document that counts, for instance, with the need to raise defence spending.
"It will be more and more difficult for the Czech Republic to maintain sufficiently strong conventional forces in the whole spectrum of abilities," says the vision in an explanation of the possibility Few Czechs satisfied with democracy - poll ...

The Defence Ministry considers a massive conventional attack against NATO member countries to be little probable in the next 20 years.
It says the military will most probably continue to operate outside the NATO and EU territories within operations aimed to push through or maintain peace and in humanitarian operations.
