Women make up 15.5 percent of deputies and 13.6 percent of senators. Yet gender equality remains a marginal topic for the Czech government, the report authors say. Minister for human rights and ethnic minorities Dzamila Stehlikova (Greens, SZ), who received the report today, partially agrees with its conclusions. She said she considers the lack of women in higher posts, pay inequality and a low share of men who look after children the most significant shortcomings. The report has been worked out by experts from the academic and non-profit circles joined in the ProEquality Coalition and the Open Society Praha foundation. The project has been supported by the EU.
