Trade and finance leaders from key nations meeting at World Trade talks in Geneva, Switzerland, have completed a fifth day of negotiations without a breakthrough.
European business representatives say compromise proposals so far would lower export barriers on manufactured goods while allowing big emerging nations like Brazil or India to keep significant protection. The talks, aimed at implementing measures discussed during the Doha round and revitalising the global economy with sustainable trade policies, are expected to continue over the weekend or longer.
