Lufthansa ground and cabin crew are to begin indefinite strike action starting on Monday.
Members of Germany's largest service sector union, Ver.di, voted overwhelmingly in favour of the motion to back up demands for a pay rise. The industrial action could also effect other airlines which rely on catering staff from Lufthansa subsidiary, LSG. According to a German newspaper report, Lufthansa has prepared a plan for countering the strike action, and expects to be able to guarantee 75 percent of flights.
