Medical sources in Gaza say a car bomb has exploded on a coastal road in Gaza City killing at least four Palestinians and injuring about 20 others.
Reports said three leaders of al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, which rules Gaza, were among the dead. A young girl was also reported killed. Hamas says a car belonging to one of its members was torched hours later in the southern Gaza town of Rafah. The group then detained two members of the rival political faction Fatah in connection with the violence. Earlier, the interior ministry said a suicide bomber attacked an internet cafe in Gaza.
