A deadline for for capture war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic to appeal his transfer to the UN war crimes tribunal has expired.
The former Bosnian Serb leaders legal council released no information about the status of the case, telling reporters that withholding details was "part of the defence strategy". When an appeal is filed, a three-judge panel of Serbia's special war crimes court then has three days to decide on its merits. Karadzic, who has been indicted for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, was arrested in Belgrade on Monday, having evaded capture in the guise of a healer for more than a decade.
