26.07.2008 - Czech regional, Senate elections to cost 600 million
The sum includes the means for the Interior Ministry, the Czech Statistical Office (CSU) and regional and local authorities.
The Interior Ministry is of the view that the total costs will be similar to those four years ago, but may be increased by the rising energy prices.
Hana Mala from the press department of the Finance Ministry said in 2004, the costs of the Interior Ministry amounted to roughly 158 million crowns and the election costs of regional and local authorities to about 245 million crowns.
The biggest proportion of the sum was spent on remuneration for members of the almost 15,000 election committees.

Czech Interior Ministry prepares migration limiting programmes ... will be spent on the printing of the ballot papers and other election documents as well as telecommunications.
This year, the printing and distribution of ballot papers will cost roughly 70 million crowns.
The CSU, that publishes the results of the elections at its server www.volby.cz, will have 47 million crowns at its disposal for the elections.
The elections will be watched by the State Election Commission that will meet for the first time on September 2.
