Hamas security forces are reported to have arrested dozens of supporters of the rival Fatah group in the Gaza Strip, which Hamas rules.
The move follows a mysterious beachside blast on Friday that killed five Hamas members and a 6-year-old girl in Gaza City. Hamas accuses Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas' Fatah group of being behind a series of explosions in the Gaza Strip, but Fatah denies involvement. Hamas ousted the Fatah movement from Gaza in June 2007. Palestinian president Abbas fired a Hamas-led coalition government and appointed a western-backed administration, which is based in the West Bank.
