A deadline for captured war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic to appeal his transfer to the United Nations war crimes tribunal in The Hague has expired.
The former Bosnian Serb leader's legal counsel released no information about the status of the case, telling reporters that withholding details was "part of the defence strategy". However, Serbia's state-run 'Politika' newspaper reported that Karadzic's lawyer had filed a last-minute appeal against his extradition but this has not been confirmed by other sources.
