Israeli forces have killed a senior Hamas militant in a raid on the man's house in the Palestinian West Bank.
Palestinian officials identified the man as Shihab al-Natche, who was wanted by Israeli authorities in connection with a suicide bombing in southern Israel in February. The armed wing of Hamas has promised retaliation for the killing. A ceasefire between the Hamas administration of Gaza and Israel has been in place since June, but it does not apply to the West Bank.
