Car bomb kills six in Baghdad ... Baghdad, three bombings in quick succession killed at least 28 people and wounded more than 80. According to police all three explosions were caused by female suicide bombers who co-ordinated their attacks. The women targeted Shi'ite pilgrims who are flooding into the Iraqi capital for a major religious event. Later, in the northern city of Kirkuk at least 36 were killed and more than 100 were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated an explosives belt amid people protesting against a draft provincial elections law that is being debated in parliament. It is thought this attack was also carried out by a female suicide bomber.
