Culture Minister Vaclav Jehlicka (KDU-CSL) announced earlier in July that the project of a new building for the NK by Czech-born English architect Jan Kaplicky would not be implemented. He said the new building, dubbed a "blob" or "octopus" due to its unorthodox design, would not be constructed at Prague-Letna. Jandak said the rejection of the NK project was shame. He said 1.9 billion crowns had already been secured and further money would certainly be found in the next years. "There is enough money," Jandak said, adding that the Prague airport would be privatised, which would yield some 100-120 billion crowns.
