A jury in Britain has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of three men accused of assisting the July 7, 2005, terrorist attacks in London.
It is unclear whether the three men, the only people charged to date over the bombings, will face retrial. Prosecutors say the men scouted London for potential targets in collaboration with other British Muslim extremists who later carried out the suicide bomb attacks on London's public transport system, killing 52 people and injuring over 700 others. The defendants argued that their visits to a number of national landmarks were innocent in nature.
