Germany's largest airline Lufthansa and the trade union ver.di say a breakthrough at negotiations should end a five-day strike by ground and cabin staff early on Saturday.
Lufthansa says its 21-month offer amounts to an annual pay increase of 4.2 percent. Ver.di, which had demanded 9.8 percent, says it will ballot its members on the proposed settlement early next week. Because of the strike, 130 flight cancellations had been expected, including 30 inter-continental links.
