In Baghdad a truck bomb has exploded near a passport office in a Sunni Arab district killing at least 12 people.
Official sources and medics say 23 other people were wounded. The dead included two women. In two other bomb attacks, aimed apparently at passing police and government vehicles, 11 more civilians were wounded. Sunday's bombings came as Iraq's parliament prepared to debate a disputed election bill that has heightened tensions over the oil-rich northern region of Kirkuk.
