The deal sparked months of street protests because of fears that US cattle may be infected with mad cow disease. President Bush's talks in Seoul will focus on the US-South Korean military alliance, a planned free trade agreement and North Korea's nuclear weapons' programme. Bush will then be travelling on to China to Beijing to attend the opening of the Olympic Games.
