The US Geological Survey has reported that an earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale hit China's Sichuan province.
There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The quake occurred just a few hours after the Olympic torch relay was held in the Sichuan provincial capital of Chengdu, its last stop before the flame officially opens the Beijing Games on Friday.
