France has rejected as "unacceptable'' allegations by Rwanda that it played an active role in the 1994 genocide in the central African nation.
A French foreign ministry spokesman questioned the "objectivity" of the commission that produced a report with the allegations. The report, released on Tuesday, says France knew of preparations for the genocide, and that the French military helped plan the massacres and actively took part in them. It names 13 senior politicians and 20 military officials, raising the prospect of legal action against them.
