Deutsche Bahn looks set to move aheda with partial privatisation ... An attack on a Pakistani military checkpost by some 200 pro-Taliban militants has triggered intense fighting that has left 25 insurgents and two paramilitary soldiers dead near the Afghan border.
An area intelligence official said the fighting broke out Wednesday in the Bajaur tribal region when paramilitary troops reoccupied the checkpost they had abandoned several months earlier. A local intelligence official said militants used rockets and assault rifles in the attack. The operation comes amid mounting US pressure for Pakistan's fledgling democratic government to crack down on Islamist fighters in the rugged frontier region.
